Senegal 2015: Dream Team battles Desert Foxes for golden prize

Nigeria is on the verge of winning the elusive U-23 AFCON trophy when the Dream Team file out against their Algerian foes today in Senegal.
The Dream Team got into today’s final on the back of inconsistent performances that saw them manage only one win at the group stage.
After securing a scrappy 3-2 win over Mali, the Samson Siasia tutored side played out two consecutive draws against Egypt and Algeria.
Mother luck literally saw the team beat host Senegal in the semi in a game that ended 1-0. Today, the Dream Team must be at their best to beat Algeria in what is a re match of their group stage clash that ended goalless.
With the Olympics ticket already in the kitty, Samson Siasia and his boys would definitely want to go a step further by winning the trophy. Ever since its inception in 2011, both Nigeria and Algeria have not won the trophy hence, a tense and feisty final is expected today.
The Algerians it would be noted, broke a 35 year old jinx by clinching an Olympic ticket to Brazil and would be in peak condition to go a step further by lifting the trophy.
