Nigerian heavyweight wrestler, Power Lee De Great successfully defended his PWA African heavyweight title at the Asaba Township Stadium, Asaba in Delta State against Angolan Marvellous Buffalo.
The wrestling show started with a musical show of the Delta Arts Council Asaba, followed by the Abame wrestling dance of Igbide and the Isoko Choral Group, which came all the way from Isoko land to added glamour to the wrestling show. There were some interesting supporting bouts one of which featured Mighty Man defeating USA Bing of Congo Kinshasha while Mr. Sharpman lost to Wolf NDA 98.
The main bout between Power Lee and Marvellous Buffalo was preceded by a drama as Michel Noudem, the man Power Lee defeated in Yaounde, Cameroon to claim the belt seized the microphone and threw an open challenge to whoever wins the fight on the night.
Power Lee shoved him aside, grabbed the microphone from him, saying that he had dealt with him before in Yaounde, Cameroon and saw no reason for coming to Nigeria again. The title defense fight between Power Lee and Buffalo was great as both wrestlers were equal to the task. But the Nigerian wrestler was smarter as within a twinkle of an eye, he slammed Buffalo twice before going for the pin fall and it was over as Power Lee successfully defended his much awaited and much postponed PWA African Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Title.
