Nwobodo was smuggled into APC – Party spokeman

Spokesman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) South-East Leadership Caucus, Mr. Osita Okechukwu, alleged yesterday that former old Anambra State governor, Chief Jim Nwobodo, was smuggled into APC through the window.
“To be candid, Chief Nwobodo used to be our model; a principled politician and a Zikist. But in more than a decade, he has shed his principle and kind of descended into the arena of food-is-ready politicians.”
The spokesman in a statement issued yesterday in Enugu, faulting the claim by Nwobodo that he joined APC on principle, said: “My investigation showed that, till now, he has not registered in his ward; he was smuggled in by his allies in our party and soul mates who connived with them in utilising the money from Dasukigate to allocate 14,175 votes to President Muhammadu Buhari, less than three per cent of the over 15,000,000 votes garnered by Mr. President.”
Okechukwu said he was not worried over what may be the intention of Nwobodo who had declared that he was not coming into APC to take anybody’s position, saying: “We are not talking of position, but pollution of our great party, he should first cleanse himself of the Dasukigate. Don’t forget that the first cardinal programme of the APC is war against corruption. It is there in our manifesto.”
He also castigated the APC leadership in Enugu State who admitted Nwobodo into their fold, saying they are converting APC in the state into a department of PDP.
