The leadership crisis rocking the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), in Lagos State has been laid to rest following the intervention of the National chairman and deputy national chairman (South) of the party, Chief Victor Ike Oye and Mr. Uchenna Okogbuo respectively.
At a meeting in Lagos, Daily Sun learnt, the factional chairmen agreed to sheathe their swords and come together to work for the success of the party in the state.
One of the factional chairmen, Prince Adeshina Olayokun reportedly agreed to step down for his counterpart, Mr. Kayode Alabi. A leader of the party in the state, Mr. Patrick Ekwunife described the development as a new dawn for the party in Lagos. He regretted that factionalisation had weakened the party in the state, commending Oye and Okogbuo for intervening in the crisis. He assured that the resolution of the crisis would enable the party take its rightful position in the state.
Ekwunife appealed to members of the party who quit in the heat of the crisis to return, urging Nigerians to embrace APGA as a credible alternative to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
