Stop the blame game, Sheriff counsels Buhari, Tinubu

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Chairman, Ali Modu, yesterday ‎asked President Muhammadu Buhari and the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to stop the blame game.
Sheriff, who spoke at the inauguration of four special committees to handle the May 21, 2016 national convention of the party, lamented that about a year in government, the leadership of the APC was still engaged in what he called, “shameless trading of blames with the PDP that had left power.”
President Buhari while receiving the President of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) from Dr. Bernard O. Aliyu at the State House in Abuja‎ on Monday, stated that: “In the First Republic, more enduring infrastructure was built with meager resources. But in the past 16 years, we made a lot of money without planning for the rainy day. We showed a lot of indiscipline in managing our economy, and that is why, we are where we are today,”‎ the president said.
And National leader of the APC, Senator Bola Tinubu, has asked Nigerians to hold the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to be responsible for the rot in the system.
Tinubu, while addressing newsmen in Lagos at the weekend, said PDP destroyed Nigeria during its 16-year rule by refusing to pursue what was necessary for the growth and development of the country.

But Sheriff described the statements by the two APC leaders as signs of incompetence in the handling of the national problem.
“The leadership of the party shares the pains of Nigerians after one year in office of the All Progressives Congress-led government. Nigerians have now had the opportunity of comparing the PDP and also the APC. The ultimate judges of this exercise are Nigerians.
Instead of the APC addressing the problems of the country, the ruling party has kept blaming the PDP for lack of petrol in the country. I saw the other day a publication by one of the leaders of the APC that we are responsible for lack of petrol after their one year in office.
I would like to advise the leaders of the APC to stop blaming us in the PDP, we are now in the opposition party, repositioning our party to show Nigerians that we could do better, “‎ he added.
