To avoid the pains of property demolition, Lagos State Government, yesterday urged prospective property owners to ensure that they crosscheck properly the status of the land before embarking on construction.
The advice came on the background of what transpired during the site inspection by the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Mr. Ganiyu Johnson, to some areas in the state.
At Isiba Oluwo, in Alimosho Local government area (LGA), where road construction is ongoing, it was discovered that a property, located along the road is said to have breached the alignment where the road will exit to the Abeokuta Expressway.
However, in what Johnson described as spirit of compassion, he urged the property owner to come to his office with any document he possessed.
“Certainly, the house will be demolished, but in the spirit of compassion, that has characterised the administrative style of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, we will do something positive,” he said.
