Alegbe excited with return to training

Rivers United midfielder Victor Alegbe is happy with his return to training after missing his sides’ last three league fixtures due to illness.
Alegbe started as a regular for the Port-Harcourt based team this season as Coach Stanley Eguma entrusted him with the creative duties of the team and that resulted in three consecutive home victories.
But, he missed the goalless draw at home to Sunshine Stars, also the 3-2 away win against Ikorodu United and the hard fought 1-0 victory over El-Kanemi on Wednesday in the Match Day 10 of the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL). However, he is confident of returning as sharp as possible to help the team achieve more this campaign.
“I am excited to be back on the training pitch,” he told SportingLife. “I’ve missed a couple of matches due to illness but am ready to go now.
“I have supported my teammates from the sides and they’ve done very well as we are unbeaten in the last three games in the league since losing to 3SC and I want to help continue that good run.”
Rivers United are currently placed fifth on the NPFL log with 16 points after ten round of matches and will return to action on Sunday with a trip to Owerri to face Heartland.
