Gunmen Kidnap Kano Lawmaker's Stepmother, Demand N50m Ransom


                     

Gunmen have kidnapped the aging stepmother of Kano State House of Assembly member Alhaji Salisu Ibrahim, Kano State Police Command confirmed.
The lawmaker said, “My stepmother, Hajiya Hafsat Abubakar, was in her room when they invaded the house on the fateful day and whisked her away on Saturday night.”

He said the suspects have since demanded N50 million ransom from the family.

Commissioner of Police Muhammad Musa Katsina confirmed the incident, saying four suspects have already been arrested in connection with the incident.

“We have arrested four persons in connection with the kidnapping and they are cooperating with us. Their intention was to kidnap the House of Assembly member because of his closeness to the big shots in the State.”
