**As Yunusa Cries Out From Detention
Yunusa Dahiru also known as “Yellow” who allegedly abducted 14 year-old Miss Ese Oruru from Bayelsa to Kano State and forcefully married her and converted her to Islam, yesterday cried out from detention alleging threats to his life.
Yinusa who police authorities in Bayelsa confirmed was detained in Prison custody at the State Police Command, cried out through some Muslim Youths that his life is under constant threats from Inmates and Indigenes of the State who visited Police custody.
A 26 year-old Moslem resident in Opolo Area of the Bayelsa State capital, Abdullahi Muhammad who claimed to have visited Yunusa in Police custody, said he was allegedly subjected to inhuman verbal assault by Inmates and other Bayelsa indigenes that have visited the prison, “as such he cried out that his life is been threatened.”
“We call on the Inspector-General of Police,Solomon Arase to expedite action on alleged charges against Yinusa and allow him access to Legal representation and good prison Environment. He is not guilty Until a court pronounce him so. They should not kill him before his time.”
Attempts to get the opinion of the spokesman of the Bayelsa Police Command, Asimin Butswat failed as the telephone calls and texts messages were not answered.
