Council boss rescues abducted girl in Maiduguri


CHAIRMAN, Gamborou Ngala council area in Borno State, Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulkarim, yesterday announced that a 17-year old girl earlier abducted by Boko Haram, has been rescued by his council.
In a statement by his Media Assistant Yusuf Gulumba, the insurgents kidnapped the girl, whose name he gave as Farida Babangida, in 2014, when it captured Gamborou town, bordering Fotokol in Cameroun.
The freed girl, who hails from Tawon Ambboorsa village in Kebbi State, was rescued in the Lake Chad Basin area of the state.
