RIVERS State governor, Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, yesterday suspend- ed the state Commissioner for Finance, Dr. Fred Kpakol . Another official, who also incurred the wrath of the governor, is the state Accountant Gen- eral, Sir Abere Dagogo, who was also suspended .
The suspension of the duo was contained in a two-paragraph statement issued in Port Harcourt yesterday, by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Electronic Media, Mr. Simeon Nwakaudu.
No reasons were ad- duced for their suspen- sion but the statement said it was with immedi- ate effect. Recall that Governor Wike, during the thanksgiv- ing service in Port Harcourt last Sunday, to celebrate
his victory at the Supreme Court, accused some of his appointees of “one leg in , one leg out”. He said they were only wait- ing to see the outcome of the Supreme court judgment, alleging that they were fraternizing with the All Progressives Congress.
