Shettima constitutes IDPs’ feeding task force


Borno State Governor Kashim Shettima has constituted a special task force for the feeding of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in about 30 camps in the state capital.
Shettima, in a statement by his spokesman, Isa Gusau said the task, which will be supervised by his deputy, Mamman Durkwa, is to monitor and evaluate “feeding, supply and distribution of food items in all internally displaced persons’ camps.
“Following recent developments, Governor Kashim Shettima has constituted an Independent Task Force with the mandate of monitoring and evaluating feeding, supply and distribution of food items in all internally displaced persons’ camps. The Task Force is to also reassess the exact number of IDP’s being fed, keep track of quality, reasonable quantity and regularity of meals; strengthen stock keeping and transparency in all supplies, distribution and utilisation of food items meant for IDPs,” the statement said.
In addition to these, the Task Force is expected to take any other lawful step relevant to their terms of reference to guarantee the welfare of the IDPs.
The governor said the Task Force headed by the former Head of the State Civil Service and patron of Red Cross Society, Borno chapter, Dr Bulama Mali Gubio, shall function and undertake the mandate given to it until May 29, 2016. Other members of the task force include Modu Jabulam, Muhammad Bulatari,
Abba Masta,  Christopher Godwin Akaba, Abba Bama, Sheikh Abubakar Kyari,  Yaga Yagarakawa, Timothy Mshelia, Hajiya Yabawa Kolo, Usman Majidadi Kumo, Ba Lawan Jaafar (Chairman, Civilian JTF), Representative of the Nigerian Police Force, NEMA ,SEMA, ICRC, NSCDC,  State Ministry of Health among others.
