By Chiemelie Ezeobi รข€¨
In a well orchestrated ambush on the personnel of the Nigerian Navy (NN), who were part of the Defence Headquarters anti-pipeline vandalism Joint Task Force (JTF), pipeline vandals at the infamous Arepo area allegedly killed four soldiers.
This ambush was a reprisal attack on the series of successful raids carried out by the JTF on these vandals, especially at the Wawa area of Arepo.
The Taskforce is tasked with the responsibility of protecting the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) pipelines from Atlas Cove to Mosimi Depot.
The Navy also announced the recovery of  the bodies of its men killed in the ambush.
Tasked with that mandate are operatives from the Nigerian Navy, Nigerian Army and the National Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
