THE Federal Government has picked a new governing board for the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI) and approved with immediate effect the appointment of Waziri Adio as the Executive Secretary of the organization.
A statement from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) signed by the Director Press Bolaji Adebiyi said President Mohammadu Buhari approved the appointment of a new Governing Board and named the Minister of Solid Minerals Development as the Chairman.
Members include the Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Finance, Group Managing Director, Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), President, Miners Association of Nigeria, Representative of the Civil Society Organizations (to be elected by the organizations), President, Nigeria Mining and Geosciences Society and the President, Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas (NUPENG).
