“THE attention of Orji Kalu Media Office has been drawn to a purported letter dated February 4, 2016, signed by Dr. Orji Kalu, former Governor of Abia State and addressed to Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, Governor of Abia State, entitled:”Congratulatory Message”.
A disclaimer signed by Ebere Wabara, media adviser to Dr. Kalu, declared: “We wish to state categorically that the said letter being circulated on the social media is fake as Dr. Kalu’s signature and letterhead paper were cloned.
‘The fictitious letter is the handiwork of political jobbers who are envious of Kalu’s pedigree and political clout.
“It is worthy to note that ahead of the Abia North senatorial rerun election, an unpopular candidate in one of the political parties has been adopting cheap blackmail as a way of discrediting his opponents.
“As a patriotic Nigerian, our principal will not lose focus over the antics of the perpetrators of this wicked act.
“While calling on the public to disregard the misleading letter, we urge politicians to desist from malicious and uncivilized acts that are capable of causing unnecessary animosity.
“We urge the people of Abia North to remain steadfast as they come out en masse to vote for Dr. Kalu of the Progressive Peoples’ Alliance (PPA) on March 5, 2016”.
