#BudgetOfCorruption: Nigerians Criticize 2016 Budget on Twitter


– Nigerians described the 2016 budget as a fraud
– Nigerians condemned the ongoing anti-corruption war because of the budget
Nigerians in a swift reaction to the mild drama that played out in the National Assembly on Monday, February 8, after the Minister of Health, Professor Isaac Adewole, disclosed to the senate committee on health that the figures of the original budget of his ministry had been tampered with and urge the lawmakers to shun it.
The health minister told the committee to expect a budget that will reflect the 2016 programmes of the health sector, today, February 9, 2016. The development reportedly made Senator Lanre Tejuosho, the chairman of the Senate committee on health to go into a closed door session with Adewole to sort out the issue.
Nigerians have taken to their micro-blogging site (Twitter) with the hash tag:“#BudgetOfCorruption” to pour out their anger and personal opinion on what many considered a national embarrassment as well as criticise the 2016 budget.
