I HAVE never been a serious believer in our politics owing to the fact that over time I have been dissatisfied with its dividends. The forthcoming Abia North senatorial election (‘re-run) is just around the corner. Campaigns are in top gear, gongs are agog, lobbying, deceits and more empty promises are being dished out to the electorate after they have been given some financial and material stuff ostensibly to get their votes. This gives reason to ask, should our votes be bought? Must we get meagre financial incentives to mortgage our future? Should we expect a different result doing the same task by the same method? The obvious answers are capital no! Some expect APGA to come top, while others hope it is PDP while a good portion would want PPA to carry the day.
Why should PPA represent Abia north at the Senate ?
PPA should be massively supported and voted for to hoist its flag in representation of Abia north at the Senate because of the flag bearer who is Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu.
He has been elected before, tried, tested and proven.
A previous governor of Abia State.
An outstanding business mogul of repute with proven integrity.
A go-getter and achiever.
The voice for the voiceless.
Youthful, yet as wise as the biblical king Solomon.
A visionary leader.
A piller of sports not only in Nigeria, but internationally.
He was dubbed “action governor” by former president Olusegun Obasanjo (ironically it was the same Obasanjo government that thwarted his effort to develop Abia State with the aid of some of our own for their selfish interest.
Due to the face-off between him and the Federal Government, the noose was tightened around his government and this further inhibited total development of Abia State as federal allocations were greatly slashed and our oil wells were shared among other oil-producing states.
Even with the aforementioned, OUK did the best he could with the resources at his disposal. Many of us were not privy to the many battles he had fought while he was governor. Yes, he is human and must have made some mistakes here and there, one of which was supporting T.A Orji to succeed him in the hope that he would carry on with all his programmes which T.A. Orji unjustifiably stalled due to the aforementioned reasons. The next government became a renegade one, and this has become OUK’S greatest regret.
I think OUK deserves this ticket. He wants to set things right for us.This could only come to fruition when you and I give him our votes. His going to the Senate now is for the greater good of you and I tomorrow.
There shouldn’t be sentiments in deciding who to be voted for at the rerun. Another school of thought would say “the devil you know is better than the angel you don’t know”. I will ask where and when will any class of devil be better than any angel? Come on, people….wake up!
Let our intuition inform our decision here, we should not mortgage our development any further because of a morsel of meal. I am sure if Esau had a second chance, he would not make the same mistake again. By God’s grace, we now have another chance.
OUK all the way!!!!
Vote ORJI Uzor KALU..Vote PPA.
Kelechi Ochiedike.
Atani Arochukwu.
