The Managing Director, Vono Products Plc, Mr Tunji Anjorin, has lamented the negative impact of fake products on the company’s business and appealed to the Federal Government to intensify efforts towards combating influx of these products into the country.
Addressing the company’s trade partners at a press conference on unveiling of the company’s new hospital furniture in Lagos recently, Anjorin explained that the influx of fake products, low government patronage and exchange rate of the naira had affected capacity utilisation in the real sector.
Also speaking on the prevalence of fake products, the Group Head, Sales and Marketing, Vitafoam Nigeria Plc, Mr. Sola Owoade, noted that companies were cooperating with the statutory organisations such as the Standards Organisation of Nigeria on surveillance in order to arrest the perpetrators.
Anjorin stated that the firm recently introduced new hospital examination bed, classic bed; cabinet and drip stand to enhance service delivery in hospitals adding that the hospital bed was a product of extensive research to address some of the critical issues affecting examination of patients in hospitals.
According to him, the examination bed has been designed for comfort, the drip is adjustable while the bedside cabinet is waterproof and good for storage.
Making a special presentation on the new products, the Project Manager, Vono Products, Mr. Raheal Oshinubi, explained that the three pieces of furniture were tailor-made to enhance service delivery in hospitals. He noted that the products’ quality conformed with international best practices.
Endorsing the products, the Chief Medical Officer, GEO Medical Centre, Dr. Adetomiwa George, who described Vono products as of highest quality, recommended the new furniture to all hospitals. He commended the company for boosting the government’s local content policy.
