Kwara United have urged their new coach, John Obuh, to work towards the return of the club to the Premier League.
Obuh was appointed by the Kwara State Government after the sacking of Tunde Abdulrahman and dissolution of the club’s management team.
The Ilorin side were relegated to the Nigeria National League at the end of last season.
In a statement, the Commissioner for Sports, Kale Ayo, said Obuh’s immediate task is the return of the club to the Premier League.
He said, “We believe in his technical ability and experience to lead the club from the National League back to the Premier League that was why he was given the job. He has the full backing of the state government and we expect him to succeed with the team having done so before.”
The former Flying Eagles coach returned to the club he led from the National League to the Premier League in 2009.
