Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State on Wednesday appointed a former Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service, Mrs. Ifueko Omoigui-Okauru, to head the Board of Trustees for the N25bn Employment Trust Fund.
A statement by Ambode’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Habib Aruna, added that nine others were also approved to serve as members of the Board of Trustees of the ETF, to help in solving the challenge of youth unemployment, and promote wealth creation.
They are Mr. Dele Martins, Mrs. Bilikis Adebiyi-Abiola, Mr. Otto Orondaam, Mrs. Olufunmi Daudu, Mr. Tunde Bank-Anthony and Mr. Micheal Ajayi.
Ambode also approved that the Commissioner for Wealth Creation, Mr. Tunde Durosinmi-Etti and his counterpart in the Ministry of Finance, Dr. Mustapha Akinkunmi, should be members of the board, while Mr. Akintunde Oyebode would serve as the executive secretary.
The ETF was signed into law by Ambode on Tuesday. He said the scheme was in line with keeping faith with the promise he made to the people.
The governor had stated that an annual contribution of N6.25bn would be injected into the fund by the government for four years, totalling N25bn.
