The Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo has expressed optimism that in the coming year, Nigeria would experience a stable and sustainable economy.
The Monarch, in his new year’s message to Nigerians in Abeokuta yesterday disclosed that in spite of the numerous challenges the nation is currently facing, Nigeria will survive.
“I am exceedingly grateful to the Almighty Lord for His Bountiful Mercies on Egbaland and indeed the entire country.
Our nation had witnessed many challenges, some of which shook her to the very foundation of existence. These problems included a civil war, political rascality and intolerance, religious bigotry, economic sabotage due to greed and pestilence, and indeed, delinquent leadership”.

“Many nations could not survive what Nigeria had gone through. Many countries all over the world are in serious social upheaval and war as we celebrate Christmas and New Year.”
“I am very delighted to project into the future by telling you that I have seen a rainbow in the sky. I am very confident in God that 2016 is the year we have been waiting for. This is in terms of laying an enduring foundation for stable and sustainable economy; political and religious tolerance and mutual understanding; removal of poverty and ignorance”, he said
Oba Gbadebo also urged Nigerians to be patient with President Mohammadu Buhari’s administration in order to enjoy an “enduring transformation, disclosing that the President is laying a foundation for good governance”.
“Anything done with indecent haste would fail. Part of the sacrifice of the populace is patience as the fruits of their forbearance is around the corner.”
“My prediction of 2016 as the year we have been waiting for is also predicated on free flow of information between the government and the people. Government should engage the governed in open dialogue on their development. The governed must also cooperate with the government for their own good”, the Monarch affirmed.
