We’ve achieved peace in Plateau – Lalong
Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, yesterday said his administration has achieved lasting peace
in the state.
Since the past 10 years the state has been troubled by violence, leading to loss of lives and destruction
of property.
Speaking when management of the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology, Zaira, paid him a
courtesy call in Jos as part of the institute’s 2015 participants’ field trip, the governor, who assumed
office six months ago, said: “Some few years ago, people were afraid to come to the state, but
recently people now visit the state and that is a signal that peace has been restored to the state.
Lalong called on the institute to be more visible and add more value to the economy of the country.
Speaking earlier, Director of the Transport School in the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology,
Abimbola Odumosu, said the institute was committed to strengthening the transport sector, as it is
charged with the responsibility of providing professional training for middle cadre managers in areas
of transport and logistics and also conduct research and offer consultancy services to both public and
private transport and logistics organisations, in addition to providing management training for
personnel employed in all modes of transportation.
