Anambra State Government has lifted the restriction it placed on Commercial (Okada) and Private Motor Cycle Riders in plying some designated roads in the State.
Announcing the removal of the restriction yesterday, the State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Dr. Mrs. Uju Nwogu said it was done in the spirit of the season.
It could be recalled that Okada and Private Motor Cycle Riders were months ago banned from plying the expressways in the state and some major roads including the popular Ziks Avenue and Awka, Arthur Eze Avenue Awka.
With the lifting of the restriction, they according to the Commissioner were free to now ply all the Roads in the State except the Enugu-Onitsha Express Road and Onitsha-Owerri Express Road.
The Commissioner’s statement further said, “However, this removal of restriction is on the condition that every Motor Cycle Rider must wear a Crash Helmet and carry one passenger at
a time.

“Every motor cycle rider in the state is by this announcement given one month to procure crash helmets after which enforcement will be commenced by the law enforcement agents.”
