Following a successful election held last week, Association of Movie Producers (AMP) has sworn in its new Executive, led by Ralph Dike.
Delivering his address after the ceremony at the association’s secretariat in Surulere, Lagos, Nwadike declared that henceforth, it will no longer be business as usual.
“I am honoured to stand before you on this occasion of the swearing in ceremony of my Executive and I. I have come to serve and take the association to the next level.”
Commenting on the outgoing executive which was led by Zik Zuklu Okafor, he continued: “The outgoing executive has tried and done their best. What I will be doing is to continue from where they have stopped, constantly guided by Zik Zulu Okafor, Paul Obazele, Madu Chikwendu, Zeb Ejiro and my father, Chief Eddy Ugboma.”
Among others, he unveiled a 10-Point agenda to take AMP to the next level and admonished corporate bodies to desist from exploiting the works of members illegally as his administration will not tolerate it.
He also urged movie makers who are not members of AMP to regularise their membership or face the law: “For those who just pop out of the blue with funds and hire camera men and a director and think that qualifies them to be producers I say stop! Come to AMP for proper registration and documentation or else, you will be stopped from working. Never again will we tolerate interlopers among us. We shall be working with security agencies including EFCC and the Nigerian police to enforce this.”
