They swore that the heavens shall fall; they called him unprintable names; they said he is archaic, too old and incompetent to lead; their Commissions and Directorates were used as conduit pipes in the sleaze and the Bazaar that governance became; and in being Partisan during the elections they flouted every valid protocol and extant Laws that established them, yet they will not honourably resign.
They continue as DGs, EDs, ESs et al, not in service of nation but self. They are quiet because they do not believe in our Party the APC and our programs, in defiance they argue that their tenure subsists. The effect of their inertia on governance doesn't matter, to them rather than COUNTRY FIRST it is SELF FIRST.
In other climes, please don't say it is unAfrican, even in Ghana and Benin Republic, Appointees of State resign when a Government they disagree with in Policy programmatic emerges. Where lies Patriotism in the 'I MUST STAY ON' proclivity of the PDP appointed DGs, EDs, ESs and Boards?
There is absolutely no patriotism in staying in Government when you disagree with the policies of the ruling Party knowing that the present vehicle of State is the manifesto of that Party, at best you become a clog in the wheel of progress and at worst a saboteur. It is therefore only right for Government to apply the fullest exegesis of extant laws and do the needful.
The urgency of now has no place for tranquilizing gradualism as we cannot continue to rationalize on the pace of Government. After 6months in the saddle we must begin to make concrete the promises of CHANGE. Yes, We CAN.
