Judging by her fluency and delivery in Yoruba movies, one would simply dismiss actress, Rose Odika for a Yoruba indigent. However the actress who is about clocking 50 and still looking gorgeous hails from Aniocha North, Iseleukwu in Delta State.
In a recent interview, Rose Odika revealed that the saddest day of her life was the day her marriage crashed. Speaking further she said, “I’d be more patient in my next marriage. I was 28 when I first got married, but I am older and more experienced now. There were things I should have overlooked in my first marriage, but because of my youthful exuberance, I was not patient enough in my first marriage”. Asides that she also mentioned Jealousy as the major reason why her first marriage crashed.
Speaking on the way forward, the forty-something year old mentioned that she’s currently engaged and would be giving marriage another shot, but this time with a married man. “We have been together for 3 years.
Coincidentally he came for me after reading a write up about me in City People Magazine and went there to get my number and we got talking form there. I wasn’t even paying him attention initially; just felt he was just a fan. It took me 6 months to accept him. He is married. I can’t even marry a single guy, a widower or a divorcee”.
She emphatically told the reporter during the interview.
Rose Odika is the second child of a family of seven children. Her late father a Police officer and mother a petty trader.
She attended St. Richards’ Primary School, Eleyele, Ibadan, afterwards she went to Ahmadiyya Secondary School now Anwarul-Islam, also in Eleyele. And then, Alvan Ikoku College of Education, which is affiliated to the University of Nigeria, Nsuka, where she studied Health Education.
She lived with her parents since they arrived Ibadan in 1978.
