While receiving the president, His Royal Majesty, the Olofa of Offa says His Excellency is no doubt the son of the soil and in this regards honored him with a chieftaincy title as the Aree Atolase of Offa kingdom.
“His Excellency, the President of Ghana , as he sits with me, I have conferred on him a Chieftaincy title as Aare Atolase of Offa Land,” he said.

He stressed further that Offa is indeed his homeland where he has spent many years with his father and step mother.
“Actually I found it necessary to visit my home and pay respect to my father, kabiesi, the Olofa of Offa. “For those who did not know the history, many years ago, knowing the business acumen of the people of Offa, their business takes them far away across the world, and so, a very strong branch of Balogun family of Offa has established himself in Kumasi in Ghana. “By that time he had a very beautiful daughter and my father at that time was also a very young man, he was a member of the parliament in government… his eyes fell on this beautiful daughter of Offa, one thing led to another and so Aunty Nusi Balogun became my step mother.. “ that is how Balogun and the Mahama’s family of Ghana developed a relationship.(SIC) "For many years I was here in Offa with Aunty Nusi and I know the town very well.”
The President added that he was so surprised to see how Offa has changed unlike when he was in Offa in the late 70s.
“Then, Ijagbo and Offa were separated, in the out sketch of Offa, there was bush before you reach Ijagbo, but when we were coming I realized as we passed along Ijagbo, it was just continuous all the way to Offa; the two communities have merged”.
He however thanks the people of Offa community for the warm welcome given him, and also the Olofa of Offa for the Chieftaincy tittle conferred on him.
“I want to Thank His Royal Majesty for the honor and to say that i am proud to carry the title. “Wherever i go i will spread the nobility of Offa kingdom… I do feel very much at home and whatever I can do to advance the fortune of Offa Kingdom i will do”.
While taking his leave, His Royal Majesty, the Olofa of Offa together with his Council of Chiefs walk the President through Offa town to have a glance of his homeland.
