Fear now rules and reigns in Oshodi, Lagos due to the Thursday, October 1, 2015 brutal assassination of one of the closest aides of Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya, aka MC Oluomo. The said aide, Olayinka Mamowora, popularly known as Mamok, was trailed to a barbing salon, on Mosaku Street, in Oshodi, by his assailants. Said to be about three and dressed in black, he had made futile attempts to escape, but was overpowered and shot at severally before he succumbed to death.

Undone, they dragged his remains outside and dumped him on the car he had brought to the barbing salon and went away with only his gold chain. However, to ensure their smooth exit from the scene, they fired some shots into the air before ultimately vamoosing from the scene.
43-years of age, the polytechnic graduate of Ijebu extraction in Ogun State was said to have just returned from the United Kingdom where he went to see his family. Hours before, he visited the NURTW secretariat (National Union of Road Transport Workers) where he spent some time with their Chairman, MC Oluomo and others before going to the barber’s place, where he lost his life.
Sources who know claim his assassination may not be unconnected to the killing of a factional NURTW Chairman in Oshodi only months back, Esi Oluwo. Oluwo’s boys suspect Mamok and co of having a hand in his demise. Thus, this might be their own way of retaliating.

Meanwhile, police men have taken over Oshodi to forestall a break down of law and order. Their patrol vans and even an Armoured Personnel Carrier now adorn strategic spots in the area. But even with that, many are still afraid and knowing that Agberos usually are unpredictable.
