Bashir Marafa Abba, a PDP senator representing Taraba Central has been sacked by the Taraba State National Assembly election petition tribunal in Jalingo on Wednesday.
Abba’s election was nullified by the tribunal and declared Yusuf A. Yusuf, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, as the rightful winner of the 28 March election.
The tribunal ordered that Yusuf of APC be given the Certificate of Return as the lawful winner of the April 2015 election.
In April, Abba was declared by INEC as the winner of the Taraba Central senatorial district’s seat after he was said to have polled 43,582 to the APC candidate, Yusuf, who polled 38,620 votes.
Abba was one of the senators who passed ‘Vote of Confidence’ on the embattled Senate President, Bukola Saraki on Tuesday at the resumption of the lawmakers after a six-week recess.
