Bank Manager; Dispatch Driver Arrested Over Foiled Bank Robbery

Operations Manager and a dispatch rider of a commercial bank, Fidelity Bank in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State, have been arrested and are currently detained after foiled bank robbery attempt.
Police Public Relations Officer in the State, Mrs. Celestina Kalu, who confirmed the arrest of the suspects, gave their names as Francis Enebeme and Wilfred Akah, saying that they are currently being detained at the State CID, Asaba.
The suspects were said to have been apprehended shortly after the foiled robbery by men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) last Tuesday after a tip-off that a gang of armed robbers had finalized plans to rob the bank along Effurn-Sapele road, by refinery junction, in Warri.
The security operatives were said to have mounted surveillance along the bank when the unsuspecting hoodlums invaded the bank and shot sporadically into the air to scare away persons but Kalu explained that the operation was successfully repelled by a combined team of SARS operatives and Mobile policemen on duty at the bank, disclosing that various sums of money hidden in the suspects offices were recovered.
