Body of Benchers appoints Tambuwal as member


Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, has been admitted into the Body of Benchers.

This was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs to the governor, Imam Imam.

The Body of Benchers is the highest judicial body in the country statutorily responsible for the regulation of the legal profession.
It admits any person who wants to become a legal practitioner as well as disciplines lawyers.

In a letter with reference number BOB/NIG/ALB/7A/70 addressed to the governor, the body wrote that the appointment was ratified by the Body at its meeting held on Thursday, June 25, 2015.

Tambuwal will serve in the body for life and this means that he is a legal practitioner of the highest distinction. Tambuwal was called to the Bar in 1992.
