A while back, I mentioned some self evaluation questions I had answered and thought I could share with you. They’ve helped me and I’m sure they’ll help you too. Please get a paper, hold ya pen (In Chigurl’s voice) and write down your answers. You can get friends and family who know you well to help out. You just might be surprised at what you’ll find out. Here goes:
1. What are your gifts? What do you do well?
2. What are the five things you like about yourself?
3. What moments of personal triumph do you remember?
4. What do you love? To hear, to think about, to learn about?
5. What do you hate?What grieves you? What brings you pain?
6. What people make you feel special? These people inspire something within you. What is it?
7. If you only had 12 months to live
a. What would you stop doing?
b. What would you change?
c. Who would you teach, correct?
8.a. If you could have 5 mins conversation with the earth, what would it be?
b. If you could only write one book in your life, what would it be?
9a. Whose voice do you trust?
b. Which hero do you admire?
c. Whose counsel do you obey?
10. Describe in detail a day in your life 5yrs from now.
11. What are your top 10 life goals?
12. Who are your top 10 investors?(friends maybe)
The moment you put it down in writing, it becomes real to you. From these answers you can point out your life’s vision/mission. The things you hate are probably a pointer to what you could change/correct. Those people who inspire you are most likely already doing stuff that resonate deep within you.
There’s a seed of greatness in you but you have the responsibility to water and nurture that seed. The problem with the youths of our day is that we leave our lives to chance/freestyle. We must intentionally take command of our lives proactively and get to that point of predictable success. Above all, commit your ways to God and trust Him Cos He formed you according to His eternal purpose and knows your very end from the beginning. I hope your life has been made a tad bit richer by the dozen questions.
