Ministers won’t award contract again – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has disclosed that ministers won’t be having the luxury of awarding contracts or getting corrupt in how contracts are awarded. Buhari while speaking with journalists in Washington DC said, ministers would no longer have power to award contracts.

The president further disclosed that he will introduce a new system of plea bargain, that will allow those who have stolen assets and funds to return them. He however said, if they do not take that opportunity, they will be pursued through the courts. Buhari added that his administration is taking several steps to end the menace of corruption which he said is one of the top three issues facing Nigeria, along with insecurity and unemployment.
