Your Excellency, words from your Official trip to the US have rekindled hope & faith in the journey before us. I'm once again very proud of the moment.
Sir, your promise to constitute your Cabinet in September reminds me of those inimitable words of Abraham Lincoln. I agree that years of monumental rot makes a studied & strategic choice of the pegs that must occupy leadership spots under your watch imperative, so it MUST NOT BE BUSINESS AS USUAL. But, I think that certain appointments are of immediate relevance.
The place of a Secretary to the Govt of the Federation, a Chief of Staff to the President, & the rejigging of some presently lacklustre govt Agencies like the News Agency of Nigeria, National Orientation Agency, National Broadcast Commission et al are of urgent importance for the following reasons.
Sir, a Secretary to Govt & a Chief of Staff will make the wheel of governance smoother & diminish suspicion. Not a few of us your supporters have had to answer questions as to why some of your appointments appear skewed Northwards & even your delegation to the US. Sir, these appointments will help for balance & efficiency.
During the 2015 electioneering campaign Nigerians shot from religious & regional lines, with partisan hate & anger, & with apprehension & fear centering on our dichotomies. Sir, we need a new national orientation paradigm, we need patriotic & passionate DGs for the NOA, NAN & the NBC to engage our people with LOVE & foster unity.
