Your Excellency,
"Faithful are the wounds of a friend; BUT the kisses of an enemy are deceitful"- Proverbs 27:6. Sir, I appreciate the morals of the 50% pay cut that yourself & the VP regaled Nigerians with. It shows the advent of a new paradigm in governance, yes, one of sacrifice & service. However, rather than just a voluntary slash of your pay, you should mandate the Revenue Mobilization, Allocation & Fiscal Commission RMAFC the body created by Law to fix the salary & emoluments of Public/Political Office Holders to effect a 50% pay cut across board that way we can save more funds & stave off litigation as the Law does not empower you to slash your Salary/Allowances. Sir, you can only receive same & donate 50% if you wish to govt or to charity. Sir, to save funds let the RMAFC slash by 50% the Salaries/Allowances & Estacode of all Political Public Office Holders. On fusing Ministries & reducing the number of Ministers in order to cut the cost of governance, Sir I think you must critically reassess the morals of this idea. We must be careful not to run into the bobby-trap of creating a deluge of distracting litigation in Court. The Constitutional minimum is a Minister per State not a Minister for some & a Junior Minister (Minister of State) for others. If you merge Ministries & reduce the number of Ministers there will definitely be job loss, that runs against our Party's promise of creating 740,000 jobs at the centre & 720,000 jobs at the State level in 1year. Sir, to cut cost, when the RMAFC slashes across board the emoluments of Public Office Holders more funds will be saved without job loss. Corruption is the chief malaise, not the number of Ministries or Ministers. Let's kill corruption, Sir. TO BE CONTD. Prof Chris NWAOKOBIA JNR DG CHANGE AMBASSADORS OF NIGERIA.
