AN OPEN LETTER TO MR. PRESIDENT.. More Performance Sir, Less Populism I.

Greetings Your Excellency,
I'm compelled to do this series because to make real the dividends of democracy & berth the CHANGE we promised the Nigerian people, some of us must be unprejudiced by the desire to serve in your government & be sincere to the cause of good governance & truth.

Sir, I am aware of the slash by 50% of your salary/allowances as well as our Vice President's. I have read about the intention to reduce the number of Ministers to 19 & appoint 17 Ministers of State to make up the Constitutional minimum of a Minister per State. Our Party's Spokesman Chief Lai Mohammed did also reveal in an interview on Channels TV Sunrise Daily that some State Agencies maybe fused to cut the cost of governance, he talked about possibly fusing the Ministry of Power with Steel & Mineral Resources, Nat. Orientation Agency with Information, Works with Housing et cetera. Mr. President I think we must be careful not to sacrifice service & profound performance at the altar of Populism.

Having hit the ground running within the first 6weeks of your inauguration as President, with a prolific shuttle diplomacy, with a renewed bite in the anti corruption regime of government, with the new Service Chiefs & the rejigging of our military to contend with & contain insurgency, & with a commitment to reposition our economy to create jobs; we must think deep & think through our policy resolve.

Your Excellency, I cannot be said to be immodest when I say that I fall within the first five vibrant Public Speakers in the Country who have supported your watch passionately BUT Sir, for us to succeed it MUST always be Country First.

God Bless Nigeria.

 TO BE CONTD.
