Gov Badaru Commissions Footwear Industry In Jigawa

Governor Of Jigawa State, Muhammad Badaru yesterday commissioned first mult-billion naira industry established in the state since  its creation in 1993.

The Vinylon Footwear Industry sited at Kijawal village, Ringim local government area of the state has the capacity of employing over 5,000 staffs.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the chairman, Lee Group of Company, Mr. Sheau Fung Lee said the company has set aside over $200 million to invest in Nigeria.

He explained that the Jigawa footwear industries is one of the numerous investments they plan to set up in Nigeria and it  has the capacity to produce over 120,000 footwear everyday.

Mr Sheau added that his company has also concluded arrangement for the establishment of sugar factory in Gagarawa local government area of state which would have the capacity to produce 20,000 metric tons of sugar everyday.

He sought for more cooperation from the state government and entire people of the state for successful operation of the companies in the state.

In his speech at the occassion  Governor Muhammad Badaru stated that the company is part of his government’s effort to collaborate with private investors to achieve his government’s goals of providing job opportunities and incomes to the state and its teeming population.

According to the governor, the Lee Group of Company is among the 45 companies that signed memorandum of understanding with Jigawa State government with a view to invest in various business sectors available in the state. “We have accorded top priority to providing conducive atmosphere and all necessary incentives for private investors to come and invest in our state and the effort has started yielding fruitful result,” Badaru said.
