Why we added EPL, La Liga to DStv Compact-MultiChoice

MULTICHOICE Nigeria, the leading video entertain­ment company, has given reasons for its decisions to add its biggest sport content, the English Premier League, Spanish La Liga and match­es of this year’s European Championship to the DStv Compact bouquet. On Tues­day in Lagos, the company, at a press conference, an­nounced the addition of the matches of the two presti­gious football leagues to the Compact bouquet and the reduction of the price of its Explora and Zapper HD de­coders.
Explaining its decision, the company said it was tak­en in response to the needs of its subscribers, who need a reprieve from the tough eco­nomic climate the country is currently enduring “We are excited that we can now de­liver the best football action in the world to our Compact subscribers, while ensuring that this development did not negatively impact finan­cially,” explained John Ugbe, the company’s Managing Di­rector.
The company, which also slashed the price of its Ex­plora dish kit from N71,000 to N30,000 with one month subscription and its DStv Zapper decoder with one month subscription from N18,500 to N12,500, said the hardware price-slash was a demonstration of its com­mitment towards providing Nigerians with affordable quality entertainment.
