ABM boss wants foreign manager for Eagles

CHIEF Executive Officer of ABM Global Services and a keen football lover, Prince Alex Mbata has urged the nation’s soccer governing body, NFF to go for a foreign manager for the Super Eagles.
Mbata who is also the pro chancellor/chairman governing council of Imo State University told Sunday Sunsports yesterday that what Eagles need to bounce back to reckoning is a world class foreign manager.
“Oliseh is not doing badly, but the fact remains that it is only a world class foreign manager that can
take Nigeria back to where Westerhof took us to in the 90s. Keshi was only lucky to have won the AFCON 2013 Nations Cup in South Africa. We all saw what happens thereafter in Brazil during the World Cup. So there is no alternative to going for a reputable foreign coach. If we have one, the Eagles will shock the world in Russia. We have the players, what we need is a coach that can manage them well and make them play good football.”
Mbata berated the multi national companies operating in the country for not sponsoring the NFF.
“I m pretty sure money is the reason why NFF is still sticking to Oliseh and other indigenous coaches.
I don’t see why a corporate body in the country can not bankroll the hiring of a coach. If only other companies can do the same thing Globacom is doing, with the sponsorship of football, Eagles will rule the world.
Unfortunately, the companies that add no value to the game do ambush marketing when any Nigerian team do well at the global stage.
Government should come up with a policy that should change the trend because Nigerians are passionate about football and it is a unifying force,” he said.
