Ex-NSA Dasuki transferred from SSS to EFCC

Former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, who was arrested on Tuesday by operatives
of the Department of State Security Service, has been transferred to the Economic and Financial
Crimes Commission, EFCC.
A source at the commission had earlier on Wednesday told PREMIUM TIMES that the
commission requested the transfer of Mr. Dasuki so he could be questioned by a team
investigating how $2.2 billion meant for arms procurement was diverted through his office for
political purposes.
“He was just brought in and a crack team of investigators are already getting ready to question
him,” a source at the commission said Wednesday evening.
Efforts to speak with the commission’s spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, were unsuccessful as he
was not returning our calls.
One of Mr. Dasuki’s lawyers, Ahmed Raji, had earlier told us that the SSS had promised to allow
him access to the former NSA Wednesday evening.
The EFCC already has in its custody media mogul, Raymond Dokpesi, former governor Attahiru
Bafarawa and his son, Sagir, former minister, Bashir Yuguda, as well as the son of a former
minister of defence, Bello Haliru, in connection with the probe.
