End Boko Haram by December, bomb victims task Nigerian military

Victims of bomb blast in Nigeria have called on the Nigerian military to consolidate its efforts
towards meeting the December deadline for the elimination of terrorism in the country.
In a statement signed by its chairman, Kayode Olatunji, on Wednesday, the Bomb Blast Victims
Association of Nigeria charged the armed forces to increase their surveillance and information
gathering on the activities of insurgents, especially during upcoming festive season.
The group said the fight against terrorism should be supported by all patriotic citizens, adding
that insurgency constitutes a threat to Nigeria’s continuous existence.
“This fight is for our corporate existence and survival as a nation,” the group said.
“Putting an end to insurgency was surely one of the reasons why Nigerians massively voted for
the present Muhammadu Buhari-led Administration of the All Progressive’s Congress (APC)”,
the statement noted.
The group expressed the belief that the government is up to the task.
The group said the mayhem unleashed by terrorists in the country has caused untimely deaths,
destruction of valuable properties, and has maimed some for life.
“Nigerians now live in pain, fear and hopelessness, due to the tragic conditions in which they
have found themselves,” the group said.
The group’s leader urged all Nigerians to remain vigilant against possible terrorists’ movements
during the festive season.
