Yesterday, British-Nigerian actor Chiwetel Ejiofor was honoured with the title of ‘Commander of the British Empire’ by Prince William at the Buckingham palace in London. The honour was given to him based on Chiwetel’s contribution and services to the drama industry.

This not the first time the 38-year old actor has been honoured by the British Royal family, as he was awarded the title of the Order of the British Empire in 2008.
Chiwetel is known for his brilliant performances in movies such as Biyi Bandele’s Half of a Yellow Sun and Steve McQueen’s 12 years a slave, which bagged him an Oscar nomination. He is currently promoting his latest movie, The Martian which also stars A-list actor, Matt Damon while working on a new film with Benedict Cumberbatch.
