NEPAD: Amb Njeze accused of fraud, forgery and refusal to vacate office four months after dissolution of FEC
Abuja- The former Special Adviser to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan on the New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD) Nigeria, Amb. Fidelia Njeze, has refused to vacate office four months after the Federal Executive Council was dissolved.
Amb. Njeze is being accused by the Management staff of NEPAD Nigeria, for refusing to handover the mantle of leadership in spite of directives by the presidency that all former political appointees should handover the affairs of their respective offices to the Permanent Secretary or most Senior Director in the MDAs in the last administration.
Based on some documents made available to Per Second News, Njeze is being accused of having forged her present appointment by changing her position from Special Advicer on NEPAD to NEPAD National Coordinator/CEO with effect from 27th May, 2015 for a period of another four years.
This, the management described as fraudulent, illegal and runs contrary to the approved structure of NEPAD.
The document states in part: "Instead, she invited the top Management Staff to her residence in Maitama on Thursday night, 28th May, 2015 and informed them that the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. Anyim Pius Anyim, has (unilaterally) changed her position from SA on NEPAD to that of NEPAD National Coordinator/CEO with effect from 27th May, 2015 for a period of another four (4) years. We doubt if the appointment had the approval of the former President Goodluck Jonathan."
"It should be noted that Amb. Fidelia Njeze took oath of office as the Special Adviser to the President on NEPAD last year at the full glare of all Nigerians but we are surprised that at this moment, she was the one who announced her new position to only the Directors. This was despite the fact that she is still retaining the position of Ambassador of Nigeria to Switzerland before the appointed Ambassadors were recalled by the new Administration.
A protest was staged by staff of NEPAD Nigeria, rejecting the fraudulent appointment and demanded the subsequent withdrawal of the letter from NEPAD by her and also immediate hand over on the same day with letter dated May 26, 2015, by Amb. Njeze to the most senior director of the Agency, who retired recently.
Days after the protest, a letter was signed by the Permanent Secretary, general Services Office releasing her to proceed on leave addressing her using the fraudulent nomenclature on 5th June, 2015.
According to the document, a letter inviting NEPAD Nigeria to brief the President, Muhammadu Buhari, on 26th August, 2015 on the activities of NEPAD Nigeria, where the Acting Chief Executive was supposed to attend the brief, was attended b her only without any of the Directors of the Agency.
Other allegations levelled against Amb. Njeze includes, Diversion of funds meant for programmes/projects to self under the pretence of transformation agenda; Short changing of staff on their entitlements (election observation, monitoring & evaluation of projects, trainings, etc.); Reckless spending and wasteful spending of tax payers money on personal effects; Absconding from office due to her concurrently running of 2 offices i.e. Ambassador of Nigeria to Switzerland and NEPAD Nigeria and also benefiting from the 2 offices in terms of salary, travelling allowances; Spirited attempt to personally acquire NEPAD Nigeria Office at No. 12 Faranaah Street, Wuse, Zone II, Abuja and converted it to private hotel, this is the reason why NEPAD Nigeria now operates in two offices (Federal Secretariat and Wuse Zone II) using renovation as excuse and using NEPAD platform to campaign for former President (Goodluck Ebele Jonathan) particularly because of her status as a member of PDP Board of Trustees in the last General Elections.
Next to come..How Amb Njeze uses her office to poach NEPAD's treasury
