Those he commands abide only by his commands, they harbour no real love for him. That is why Bola Tinubu, former Lagos governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) leader, has his title and authority hang loosely about him like a giant's robe upon a midget emperor.Following several treacherous acts committed against him by his godsons, friends and political associates, Tinubu hasn't learned his lesson. Perhaps he is simply incapable of saying "No" to his underlings and associates. Recently, the APC leader nominated Wale Edun, a former Lagos commissioner, as the Minister of Finance to President Muhammadu Buhari.
Although it is uncertain if Buhari would accept Edun and appoint him as finance minister, the latter's name is on everyone's lips as he is being tipped as the likely candidate to fill the vacant office. This is due to Edun's perceived proficiency at such tasks and his sterling performance as a member of Tinubu's cabinet while the latter served as the governor of Lagos State. Until his nomination for the position, Edun had served Tinubu with commendable loyalty. Let's hope he would not betray his benefactor after he secures the appointment.
